Work has finally begun on the building of 466 brand new council homes for rent across Kirklees. The homes will be one and two bedroomed flats, built in 27 different locations across Kirklees. Some of the ground floor flats will be specifically designed to meet the needs of wheelchair users and three of the schemes will be Extra Care Housing Schemes, suitable for older people who require care and support.
Allocations for the new properties will be through Kirklees Choose’n'Move’ scheme, except for the Extra Care Housing which will be let to applicants on the basis of need and suitability.
