April saw the launch of GRASP (Growing Renaissance in Arts & Sports Project) in Batley’s Central Estate, a six month project which is funded through Kirklees Council’s Reducing Inequalities Grant.
The project has been running for over four weeks and has already registered around 70 residents, of all ages, from the estate who have participated in a series of fun sporting games and arts and crafts activities.
Amanda Stubley, Secretary of Batley Central Estate TRA, said:
“This is a flagship project for our estate and we are pleased with the response we have had so far from local reisents, we are hoping that it continues to be a successful project”
The project is due to continue through till September 2011.
