My name is Yvonne Pearson and I have been part of KFTRA for nearly 10 years. I have been publicity officer for 3 years and I really enjoy my role. I am also Vice Chair of Huddersfield North Tenant Committee.
When i first started as a tenant rep in Almondbury 15 years ago, one of the first things I did was to help to set up a youth club for 7-10 yr olds. I have also done the Tenant Participation Course.
I moved to Salendine Nook 6 years ago, where I am the Secretary of my local TRA. One of the things that upsets me is when people think I work for the council or that I get paid for my involvement with KFTRA or KNH. Like all the other members of the Management Committee l am an unpaid volunteer working to benefit the community that l live in and council housing tenants and residents throughout Kirklees.
