COMMUNITIES TOGETHER GRANT SCHEME - FUNDS STILL AVAILABLE

The "Communities Together" grant scheme is looking for organisations who have ideas for community cohesion projects.

The maximum grant is £3,000. Applications for £1,000 or less are eligible for our ‘fast track’ procedure, with a decision in four weeks - ask for details. Other applications will normally get a decision in 6-8 weeks.

 Visible Communities
The Lankelly Chase Foundation is funding Community Matters to provide bursaries for community organisations wishing to attain the Visible quality standard for community organisations. www.visiblecommunities.org.uk  (follow the link for 'Resources').

Funds for working with children, energy debt advice

EDF Energy Trust is inviting applications for small grants up to a maximum
of £3,000 for capital items or activities that will assist in the provision
of 'energy debt' advice. Closing date 29th January, see

BBC Children in Need
“Too late for Jan 15th”
is offering small grants of up to £10,000 a year for
three years for third sector organisations working with children and young
people. They have redesigned processes to make applying as straightforward
as possible. The next deadline is 15th January, then 15th April, see

Village CORE Programme

The Village CORE Programme is a dedicated support programme for communities looking to set up and run a community-owned rural shop.
It provides advisory support along with a £40,000 funding package comprised of a £20,000 grant matched with a £20,000 loan, which is also matched by the equivalent community contributions.

This programme, which will have supported over 50 new community-owned rural shops by the end of 2009, has recently been renewed for a further three years. Grants will be awarded to rural communities of at least 300 people.

The Village CORE Programme is managed by the Plunkett Foundation in partnership with Co-operative & Community Finance and the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
